HT bitumen swelling tape
Art. No:
The HT bitumen swelling tape is perfect for sealing an annular gap in pipe penetrations or liner connections
Further properties
Effective sealing for pipe penetrations and liner connections
Our HT bitumen swelling tape is ideal for sealing annular gaps in pipe penetrations and liner connections, especially in areas with heavy water ingress or high groundwater levels. As soon as the tape comes into contact with moisture, it swells and actively presses against the pipe and the substrate, ensuring a reliable seal.
As a supplementary measure, we recommend our HermesConnect 3C local laminate to create optimal transitions, for example for connecting GRP liners to manhole structures.
- Roll size: 5 m x 150 mm
- Tape thickness: 1.5 mm
Special features
- Perfectly suited for sealing between a pipe and concrete
- Perfectly suited as a sealing system for a pipe penetration
- Perfectly suited for a liner connection with WW mortar

Application
- Step 1: The surrounding concrete around the pipe or GRP liner is removed to a depth of 5 cm and a height of 5 cm.
- Step 2: In the case of existing infiltrations, water ingress in the annular gap is reliably stopped with our ERGELIT-10SD.
- Step 3: The HT bitumen swelling tape is cut to the appropriate length corresponding to the circumference of the pipe. It is then formed into a roll so that it is about 1 cm thick.
- Step 4: The HT bitumen swelling tape is placed around the pipe and pressed firmly into the annular gap.
- Step 5: Finally, the HT bitumen swelling tape is smoothed with ERGELIT-KS mortar to ensure a durable and secure seal.
