Tear-off strength & adhesive tensile test
Art. No.: 000000
Would you like to test the substrate of your wastewater structure? We can help you determine the tear-off strength and check the adhesive tensile strength after the renovation.
Further properties
The difference between the tear strength test and the adhesive tensile strength test is easy to explain:
In sewer rehabilitation and coating processes, a minimum tear-off strength of 1 N/mm² is required in accordance with DWA-M 143 Part 17. These tests are crucial to ensure that the substrate has sufficient load-bearing capacity and that the coating fulfills its function in the long term.
Although these tests are associated with costs, it is far more expensive to renovate a building where an untested coating has caused damage. It is therefore worth playing it safe beforehand to avoid problems and high repair costs later on.
- Time: Carried out directly on the substrate before coating.
- Purpose: Checks whether the substrate is strong enough to support the planned coating.
- Time: Is carried out after coating as a quality control.
- Purpose: Checks whether the coating is sufficiently bonded to the substrate.
